Fireplace Maintenance & Annual Service

East Texas does not need a fireplace every day, which is exactly why problems hide until the first cold night. An annual service visit catches them early.

Schedule service if

  • It has been more than a year since the last service
  • You are about to use it for the first time this season
  • You just bought the home and do not know the fireplace history
  • The glass is cloudy or the logs look darker than before
  • It takes longer than it used to for the burner to light
  • You want peace of mind before hosting the holidays

What an annual service includes

  • Inspection of pilot, burner, valve and controls
  • Cleaning of burner, pilot assembly and glass
  • Log and ember placement checked and corrected
  • Testing of ignition, remote and wall switch
  • Venting and gasket check
  • A clear summary of anything that needs attention

Repair, replace or upgrade

Maintenance is also when we spot parts that are wearing out, so you can plan a repair or replacement on your schedule instead of in the middle of a cold snap.

Before your appointment

Let us know the fireplace type (gas insert or gas logs in a masonry fireplace) and the last time it was serviced, if you know.

Smell gas? If you smell gas, do not try to light the fireplace or use switches. Leave the house, then call your gas utility or 911 from outside. Once the home is safe, schedule service with us.

Questions about fireplace maintenance & service

When is the best time to schedule fireplace service?

Late summer through early fall, before the first cold front. Appointments fill quickly once temperatures drop.

Does a gas fireplace really need annual service?

Most manufacturers recommend it. Dust, spider webs and wear on small parts are common causes of no-start calls.

How long does a service visit take?

It depends on the fireplace and its condition. We will give you an expectation when we confirm your appointment.
